2018 CCT Summer Theatre Camps
*Beginner's Theatre Camp* (Students entering 1st-5th grades in Fall 2018)
Campers in CCT’s Beginner’s Theatre Camp will be introduced to the fun of working on and starring in a live theatre production, while learning lines, helping with costumes and sets, playing theatre games and making new friends along the way. This camp is jam-packed with activities and fun for all campers!
Beginner’s Camp is for children completing Kindergarten (going into 1st grade) through completion of 4th grade (going into 5th grade) in Spring 2018. Camp will be held for two consecutive weeks: June 18, 2018 through June 29, 2018.
*Rising Star Camp* (Students entering Grades 6-8 in Fall 2018)
CCT’s all new Rising Star Camp is a new musical theatre experience focusing on our Middle School aged campers. This new camp will create a better stepping stone into our Advanced Broadway Camp by keeping many of its benefits, while also creating an environment that will allow more time for growth, learning, and attention to the camper’s needs. On the first day of camp the children will be instructed through an audition workshop that will comprehensively move through each step in an audition process. Afterwards they will audition for a role in our show. Every child gets a role, and for the two weeks that follow they will perfect that role, while also learning choreography, music, costuming, and all other aspects of the theatre. All of which will culminate in two nights of performances to showcase everything they’ve learned.
Rising Star Camp is for children who have completed 5th grade (going into 6th grade) through 7th grade (going into 8th grade) in Spring 2018. Camp will be held for two consecutive weeks: July 19, 2018 through July 22, 2018.
*Advanced Broadway Camp* (Students entering Grades 9-12 in Fall 2018)
CCT’s Advanced Broadway Theatre Camp is where High School Students get to learn the nuts and bolts of theater and production! This two-week camp starts off with auditions, where campers try out for a role in our full-length musical, which will be presented the second weekend of Camp. Auditions are followed by two weeks of rehearsals, which include line memorization, theatre techniques, choreography, learning music, costuming, learning about the technical aspects of the production and creating life-long friendships with the cast and instructors.
Students who have completed 8th grade through 12th grade in the Spring of 2018 (entering 9th grade through freshman year in college) are eligible to register for Advanced Broadway Theatre Camp. Camp will be held for two consecutive weeks: July 16, 2018 through July 29, 2018 from 1p.m. – 6:00p.m. (some nights until 9:00p.m.).
